Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama, said this during the 2018 Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit in Abuja.
Onyeama explained that the portal would help Nigerians in diaspora to have a better understanding of where they can fit in if they decide to return to Nigeria.
He said the move became necessary, as it will be difficult to fast track national development without constant engagement with those in diaspora, citing China as a good example.
The Minister of Agriculture and his counterpart in the Works, Power and Housing Ministry said the opportunities in agriculture are limitless as Nigeria now provides 7 million tonnes of rice per annum.
They assured Nigerians in the diaspora that arrangements have been made to enable them actively participate in the 2019 general elections.
